I am new to Mac so please forgive my ignorance. I have a Sony video camera which has .mpg files. I wanted to use these files in imovie so I googled how to convert them and came up with MPEG Streamclip. It wiped my MPEG-2 Playback Component. I downloaded it again from the Apple store but when I went to install it told me it was too old for my system. What can I do now?

The Snow Leopard upgrade DVD released on August 28, 2009 may wipe the content of the /System/Library/QuickTime folder during the upgrade process, and delete your MPEG-2 Playback Component installed in that folder. To use MPEG-2 files with MPEG Streamclip you have to reinstall the MPEG-2 component or restore it from a backup copy. The new QuickTime 6 MPEG-2 Playback Component provides QuickTime 6 users with the ability to import and play back MPEG-2 content, including both multiplexed (a.k.a. Solved: I have a legal copy of Adobe Premiere Elements 4. The software will not allow me to save a video to MPEG format. It is asking me to visit - 10293397. The QuickTime 6 MPEG-2 Playback Component costs US$19.99. It's available for both Windows and Mac. The add-on can be purchased through the Apple Store online. The Mac system requirements call for.
